CHAGHCHARAN (PAN): Thousands of university and high school students on Wednesday observed a one-day boycott of classes in the provincial capital of western Ghor province to protest the new entry test system.
More than 10,000 students including those from a teacher training college boycotted their classes for a day, said the provincial education director, Akbari.

 
CHAGHCHARAN (PAN): Hundreds of civil society activists on Sunday staged a peaceful rally in western Ghor province, asking the government to sign the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) with the United States.
Around 400 youth and civil society activists took part in the demonstration in front of the provincial council office. The participants urged the government to sign the pact on the residual force that would stay in Afghanistan after 2014.

People in western Ghor province vow to participate in the upcoming elections to help address their challenges, including unemployment, insufficient schools and lack of health services.
Located 980 kilometers from Kabul, mountainous Ghor province has nine districts.
This report was based on interviews conducted with three women and six men from four districts and the capital of the province.

CHAGHCHARAN (PAN): Hundreds of people on Tuesday rallied against non-execution of reconstruction projects in western Ghor province, closing the Chaghcharan bazaar and the provincial council office.
After gathering at a mosque, the protestors, including civil society representatives, provincial council members, businessmen and residents, marched to the provincial capital, chanting: “We want electricity and asphalting of roads.”
