One of the central provinces of Afghanistan, the secure province of Bamyan is located to the south of Hindu Kosh and north of Baba Mountains.
Bamyan is a historical province of Afghanistan. It is known by different names in different times. In the map of Buddhist, the province is named “Bamika” during 5th AD “Fan Yank”, according to famous Chinese tourist in 132 AD, Bamyan was named “Fan Yan Na”.
The ruins of Buddhist idols, Band-a-Ameer and the first National Park are the historical antiquities of the province.

 
BAMYAN CITY (PAN): Civil society activists of central provinces on Saturday voiced their concern over women’s lukewarm participation in the lection process, asking the government to facilitate females to get voter cards.
There were certain problems for women that restricted their role in the election process, civil society activists from Bamyan, Ghor and Daikundi provinces said at a press conference in Bamyan City.

 
BAMYAN CITY (PAN): Two foreign workers of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in central Bamyan province, an official said on Wednesday.
The men had travelled from Kabul to the Band-i-Amir dam in Bamyan, where they were kidnapped near the provincial capital late on Tuesday, the police chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.

 
BAMYAN CITY (PAN): Police seized an explosives-laden van at the entrance to the provincial capital of central Bamyan province and its driver arrested on Monday.
The flying-coach type vehicle carried a total of 1,348kg of explosive materials and was en route to central Daikundi province, Bamyan police chief, Brig. Gen. Abdul Razaq Eilkhani, told Pajhwok Afghan News, citing confessions from the detained person.
