KABUL (PAN): Residents of central Pajnsher and Parwan provinces on Saturday announced support to the preliminary results of the August 20 presidential elections.

KABUL (PAN): Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Friday welcomed the successful holding of presidential and provincial elections in Afghanistan and congratulated Karzai for leading the vote count, the President's Office said.

KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): Taliban insurgents and regional authorities have simultaneously released lists of victims of a deadly NATO air strike in Chahar Dara district of northern Kunduz province.

KABUL (PAN): The Independent Election Commission (IEC), spurning new allegations of fraud from Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, has said it is the only authorised institution to manage and observe elections in accordance with the relevant law.

KABUL (PAN): Inching closer to  the 50+1 magic figure, President Hamid Karzai continues to lead in partial presidential election results. In fact, he extended his lead to 48.60percent over his closest challenger on Sunday.
