HERAT CITY/LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Wolesi Jirga, or lower house of parliament, member Ghulam Farooq Majrooh survived a bomb attack in western Herat province on Tuesday, an official said.
The bombing took place in the Gandum Mena area of Ghoryan district at around 8:00am when the lawmaker was on his way to the provincial capital, police spokesman Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Meanwhile, a civilian was wounded when explosives planted on a motorbike went-off in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, at 10:00am.
Omar Zwak, the governor’s spokesman, said the blast took place when an Afghan National Army (ANA) vehicle was passing through the area.
