HERAT CITY (PAN): Nine workers of a road reconstruction company have been killed in the Karkh district of western Herat province, an official said on Saturday.
Militants killed the workers after they suffered heavy casualties in a clash with police on Friday night, police spokesman Abdul Rauf Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Karkh district is located 45 eastern of Herat City, the provincial capital. The insurgents confirmed the incident but their spokesman Qari Yousuf said 10 policemen were killed in the clash.
