VOTER VOICES & DEMANDS

SHIBERGHAN (PAN): Jawzjan people demanded authorities to ensure write of the government and rule of law, eliminate unemployment and accelerate rehabilitation of the vital agriculture sector.
They urged the government should extend all out cooperation to provide the residents with drinking and irrigation water.
The solution to the problems being faced by the residents would help bridge the gap between the government and people, they added.

TALUQAN (PAN): Residents of Takhar province expressed commitment to take active part in the upcoming presidential and provincial council elections.
However, most of the residents want free, fair and independent elections.
Sharing border with Tajikistan, Takhar has a total 17 administrative units; however, constituencies for provincial council elections would yet to be drawn.
It may be recalled widespread ragging was reported during the previous elections in Yangi Qala, Khawaja Bahauddin, Khwaja Ghar and Ashkamash districts.

TALUQAN (PAN): Residents of Takhar said the province facing host of problems including deforestation, presence of armed groups, administrative corruption, drugs trafficking and land grabbing.
Earlier, the government once initiated action to address problems of serious nature being confronted by the people but uprooting the challenges needed stringent measures, locals said.
Alhaj Mohammad Akbar, an elder of Durqad district told Pajhwok Afghan News people of area were suffering including deforestation and illegal hunting of animals.

TALUQAN (PAN): Bolstered security and creation of job opportunities for youth of Takhar province are among the major demands of the residents.
Abdul Qahar Hakimi, head of provincial council said security was the main demand of the people, saying presence of Taliban remnants and other armed groups created chaos among the residents of the province.
He underlined the relevant officials should establish greater coordination among themselves in an attempt to counter any illegal group or armed individual and their nefarious designs.

SAR-I-PUL (PAN): The residents of northern Sar-i-Pul province said they were facing immense problems because of lack of educational facilities and poor agriculture system.
They said lack of irrigation water had badly hit the agriculture sector, leaving 50 percent agro lands uncultivated annually. They identified absence of buildings for schools, efficient teachers and textbooks were among hurdles hampering progress of the vital sector.

Located to the north of the country, Sar-i-Pul along with the provincial capital comprised seven administrative units.
Balkhab, Sancharak, Gosfandi, Sozma Qala, Sayad and Khositanat are the six districts of the province. A Pajhwok journalist while compiling the report collected the views of a number of residents of the province.

SAR-I-PUL (PAN): Sar-i-Pul residents demanded asphalting of roads and provision of electricity to the people of what they said neglected province of the country.
“The surrounding provinces enjoy broader facilities including access to electricity, potable water, graveled roads and modern education facilities but we are deprived of the services,” they added.
Sifatullah, a resident of provincial capital lamented his province had neither electricity nor asphalted roads, adding the concerned officials had a double standard approach in developing his province.

QALA-I-NAW (PAN): Residents of a number of districts of Badghis province have expressed their mixed opinions with regard of decade’s old wars and the future of their country.

QALA-i-Now (PAN): A number of residents in Badghissaid major problems being faced by the residents included absence of health facilities, construction of university and airfield.
Abdullah Durani, a civil society activist and resident of provincial capital said the province was underdeveloped and needed accelerated steps for the development of the neglected part of the country.

HERAT CITY (PAN): Growing insecurity, lack of potable water, deteriorated health and education sector and dilapidated condition of roads were among major problems of Badghis residents.

Mohammad Mashal, a resident of Qala-i-now, the provincial capital said there were enormous problems of the people but lack of potable water was the major one.
