Sar-i-Pul residents want to participate in upcoming elections  with zeal
Located to the north of the country, Sar-i-Pul along with the provincial capital comprised seven administrative units.
Balkhab, Sancharak, Gosfandi, Sozma Qala, Sayad and Khositanat are the six districts of the province. A Pajhwok journalist while compiling the report collected the views of a number of residents of the province.
 
A school teacher: My son and daughters got voter cards in order to partake in the polls:
Arifa, a teacher at Bibi Zainab High School, said participation in the upcoming ballot was a national duty to be performed by every Afghan. He urged all eligible individuals to cast their vote in larger interests of the country.
She said all Afghan women must exercise their voting right and play their role in this regard.
The mother of five said her two sons and a daughter were eligible of casting vote, adding they got their voter cards in order to participate in the upcoming elections.
 
A journalist: I urge the entire Afghans to participate in ballots:
Fairuz Sultani, a journalist working with a local radio said: “We must raise awareness among uneducated people about the value of vote so that they can be able to use the ballot right with much care.”
He said the move would help ensure transparent power shift and enable them to vote in favor of eligible contender. He urged the media organizations to help create public awareness about the elections.
 
A carpenter: Strong political system after last elections helped strengthened my business:
Fida Mohammad, a carpenter and resident of Sar-i-Pul said his locality had excellent security as compared to the past.
He said his life witnessed dramatic progress over the past decade, linking the move to the active presence of Afghan security forces and establishment of legitimate political system after last elections.
In order to have bright future and enhanced insecurity, employment and to banish poverty, people should participate in the upcoming ballot, he stressed.
 
An athlete: We will take part in polls to help strengthen the elections process further:
Rohullah, a resident of Sar-i-Pul city and a football player said young generation had to exercise their voting right to strengthen further the election process and help elect a strong government.
He said those who were not willing to vote, did not have the right to complain about lack of potable water, health services and other facilities.
 
A trader: I will cast vote to help flourish business activities:
Qari saber, a resident of Sar-i-Pul city said security was established after the establishment of the incumbent government. Having his own cell phones business, he said his business flourished manifold after the last elections.
 
A grower: I will be the first person to vote this time:
Khair Mohammad, a resident of Balkh Aab district said he had neither representative in provincial council nor in Wolesi Jirga nor lower house of parliament.
 
He said they were unable to share their problems with individual to convey their messages to the senior officials and resolve the problems facing them. This time, he said he had decided to vote in favour of a good candidate.  
 
Police: I will strive to ensure security in polls day
Zamir Khan, a policeman serving at provincial police headquarter, said he and his colleagues were striving to facilitate environment for the next presidential and provincial council elections. He said no stone would be left unturned to ensure security and law and order.
