MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): In addition to the Taliban, illegal armed groups are a threat to security in northern Afghanistan, the Disbandment of Illegal Armed Groups (DIAG) head said on Sunday.
In an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, Gen. Abdul Manan said dozens of illegal armed groups in the north destabilised the region, paving the way for drug and weapons trafficking.

 
MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): An anti-corruption official in the northern zone on Saturday alleged the menace of administrative graft was widespread in Balkh province.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Trade barriers in northern Afghanistan, especially Balkh province, stem from political issues, including Uzbekistan’s improper attitude to its landlocked neighbour, an official said on Tuesday.
Director of Commerce Mohammad Hashim Barna told a press conference traders’ current problems emerged from political disputes. The second key problem was Uzbekistan’s far-from-satisfactory business links with Afghanistan, he said.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Gunmen shot dead three guards of a private bank and escaped with id="mce_marker" million before setting the branch on fire in an attack in northern Balkh province, officials said on Monday.
The overnight attack was carried out on a branch of the Aga Khan Microfinance Bank in Khulam district of centre, the town’s administrative head, Syed Ibrar, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
