MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Defence Minister Gen. Bismillah Khan Mohammadi on Wednesday said Afghan security forces should be strengthened instead of keeping foreign troops in the country beyond 2014.
“It is not the solution to keep foreign forces in Afghanistan,” Mohammadi told reporters at a security gathering in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): The education director for northern Balkh province was accused on Saturday of administrative corruption and abusing female employees of the department.
At a press conference in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital, former deputy director of education Zainab Azizi leveled the allegations against Qais Mohraeen.

Afghanistan, or historically Aryana, has been the cradle of different civilizations and religions. It is a place where several civilizations were born and then spread to different parts of the world.
 
However, the belief that Afghanistan’s strategic position has converted it into a centre of civilizations is half truth as it has the same geographical location as it had in the past; however, it is now exporting narcotics and terrorism to rest of the outside world.
 

 
MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): A 10-kilometer road, connecting two districts, is being constructed and blacktopped in northern Balkh province, officials said on Wednesday.
Funded by Germany, the road will facilitate residents of Balkh and Chamtal districts, the provincial public works director, Inayatullah, told reporters.
He said the construction would take a year to complete at a cost of $3 million.
