SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): A Sikh by faith, Tota Singh has converted to Islam and is named as Abdul Rehman in the northern Jawzjan.
Two years back, Singh came from India to Shiberghan and since then he was thinking to convert to Islam.  After doing a lot of research, he has finally chosen Islam. “I was in prison for sometime in India and there I finally found that worshipping idles, animals and trees were not rational,” he recalled.
He pledged to persuade his brother and other family members to adopt Islam as their religion. His family has been living in Shiberghan since last two decades.
Abdul Rahim Islamyar, director hajj and religious affairs, said in a ceremony that Tota Singh was named as Abdul Rehman after consultations with Ulama.
