Jawzjan has 11 administrative units including the provincial center, Shiberghan. The districts include Khamab, Qarqin, Aqcha, Mardian, Faizabad, Mangjic, Khanaqa, Khaja Dukoh, Qoshtepah and Darzab.
1.      Shiberghan City:
Shiberghan city is the center of Jawzjan--- a widely known and popular place. Jawzjan Tepah is located five kilometers east of the city, which is an ample proof with regard of its historical importance. The handicraft such as carpet, Qaraqul and exploration of natural gas reservoirs contribute to the importance of the city.
2.      Aqcha:
The Aqcha district is located 55 kilometres east of Shiberghan city. It is one of the populated districts of the province. It is linked with Moradian district in the east, Mangjic district in north, Faizabad in southeast and Khanaqa in the west.
Chakosh Dam and Aqcha River are located in the district. The carpets of Aqcha are popular in the global market. Carpet weaving, agriculture and livestock are sources of income of the residents. 
3.      Mangjic:
Mangjic district is located 72 kilometres east of Shiberghan city. It shares border with Aqcha district in the east, Qarqin and Khamab in the north, Khanaqa in the south and Khaja Dukoh in the west.
The income of the residents are farming and weaving carpets.
4.      Muradian:
Muradian is located 75 kilometres east of Shiberghan city, sharing border with Balkh province to the east, Qarqin and Khamab districts to the north, Faizabad district to the south and Aqcha district to the west. Residents’ main sources of income are carpet weaving, agriculture and livestock.
 
5.      Qarqin:
The Qarqin district is located 150 kilometres north of Shiberghan city. It shares border with Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan to the north, Aqcha and Mangjic districts to the south, Balkh province to the east and Khamab to the west.
With the exception of Qarqin, rests of the districts face acute drinking and irrigation water shortage. In some areas, irrigation water of Qarqin district is supplied from Amu River. Carpets weaving, agriculture and livestock are sources of people’s income. The Amu River passes through north side of Qarqin district toward Khamab district.
6.      Khamab:
Khamab district is located 175 north of Shiberghan city, sharing border with Qarqin district to the east, Mangjic to the south and Khaja Duko to the west. The district has enough water. Its residents depend to earn from their vast orchards, carpets weaving, Kilim weaving, agriculture and livestock.
7.      Faizabad:
Faizabad district is located 75 kilometres east of Shiberghan. It shares border with Balkh province to the east and southeast, Muradian to the north and Aqcha to the west. The residents of the district are busy in farming and carpet weaving. Aqcha River reaches Aqcha, Muradian, Mangjic and Khanaqa districts through Faizabad district.
8.      Khaja Dukoh:
The district is located 30 kilometres northwest of Jawzjan center. It shares border with Faryab province to the north and northwest, Shiberghan city to the south, Mangjic to the east and Qushtepah to the southeast. The residents of the district are associated with the occupation of agriculture, livestock, carpet and Kilim weaving. The irrigation water of Khaja Dukoh passes through Shiberghan city where the farmers use the water for irrigation purposes.
9.      Qushtepah:
The district is located 93 kilometres west of Shiberghan city. It shares borders with Shiberghan to the east, Darzab to the west and southwest, Sar-i-Pul to the southeast and Khaja DuKoh and Faryab province to the north. Qushtepah is among the districts facing acute water shortage. Its residents earn their livelihood from their rain-fed agriculture and livestock. Qushtepah residents keep rain and snow water in ponds during the winter for drinking purposes.
10.   Darzab:  
The district is located 105 kilometres west of Shiberghan city. It shares borders with Qushtepah to the east, Sar-i-Pul province to the south and Faryab province to the west and north. Its residents are engaged in livestock and agriculture and face shortage of hygienic and irrigation water.
They have rain-fed agriculture lands. Darzab River originates from snow and rain only for three months while it becomes dry during the rest nine months.
11.   Khanaqah:
The district is located 45 kilometres east of Shiberghan city. It shares borders with Aqcha district to the east, Mangjic to the north, Sar-i-Pul province to the south and Khaja Dukoh to the west. Its residents are associated with the profession of agriculture, carpet weaving, kilim weaving and livestock.
