د ننګرهار د ولايتي شورا د برياليو کانديدانو د لوړې مراسم ترسره شول

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The newly-elected provincial council (PC) members on Saturday were administered oath by the acting governor in eastern Nangarhar province.

Governor Attaullah Ludin, who administered oath to 19 PC members, urged them to abide by the law and strive hard to serve the people who voted them power.

In his address, the acting governor said their top priority should be resolving problems being faced by their respective constituents to their satisfaction. He advised the new public representatives not to wish a luxurious life or contingents of security guards.

He told the PC members they should return to the people and help them resolve their problems under their constitutional powers.

Dr. Khushal Tasal, a civil society activist, said the new members should not repeat what mistakes their predecessors had committed.

He suggested the new PC members in Nangarhar should follow into footsteps of their colleagues in other provinces in winning their rights from the government.

New PC member Dr. Nasir Kamawal said he would work hard to honour his campaign promises.

He said his only aim behind contesting the election was to serve the people the right way. He said people’s support was key to achieving progress and the desired goals.

Another PC member Israrullah Murad expressed similar views. He would avoid grouping in the council and his only target would be service to the people.

The Nangarhar Council has 19 seats, including four reserved for women.
