د پروان والي: د ټاکنيزو ډلو ځينې کسان د تفرقې اچولو هڅې کوي

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The governor of central Parwan province on Tuesday claimed some elements in both the presidential campaigns were trying to fuel differences between the two sides.

Abdul Basir Salangi was addressing a gathering of about 300 people marking the third death anniversary of former president Burhanuddin Rabbani in Charikar, the provincial capital.

Salangi paid rich tributes to Rabbani, saying the great jihadi leader had made untiring efforts to achieve peace in Afghanistan.

Rabbani, the then High Peace Council chief, was killed three years back in a suicide attack at his Kabul residence.

The Parwan governor said he was happy with the unity government agreement, calling it in the interest of the country.

However, he said some people in both the campaigns were trying to fuel differences in order to do away with the spirit of cooperation between the two sides.

He believed the unity government deal had rescued Afghanistan from plunging into deep political chaos.

The governor said some individuals speaking on TV screens wanted to hurt the spirit of national unity with their words.

Salangi appealed to Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah to honour pledges they had made towards bringing peace and development to the country.

Parwan High Peace Council chief Eng. Zalmai also addressed the gathering and stressed the need for unity among the Afghans.

Salangi also said some elements after receiving training in planting roadside bombs in Pakistan wanted to destablise Parwan province.

He acknowledged the presence of thieves and highwaymen in the province, saying security forces had been directed to prevent insecurity at all costs.
