Helmandis stress need for reforms

LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Residents of southern Helmand province have urged the unity government to bury past differences and strive for change and reforms.
Matiullah, a dweller of provincial capital Lashkargah, told Pajhwok Afghan News since the election impasse had ended, the two teams must burry past feuds.
Another local, Shamshad, said that president-elect Ashraf Ghani and his chief executive Abdullah should pay special attention toward improving security, economy and national unity.
Each corner of the city has plunged into troubles during the election crisis, he said, adding that the leaders should not work hard to resolve these troubles.
Syed Fazal Rabi, a student of the Helmand University, asked the new president to form a fair and qualified cabinet.
Helmand is among the restive provinces witnessing a dramatic increase in militant assaults in its northern districts. Hundreds of people have died and thousands have left homes due to insecurity.
