11 dead in Samangan roadside blast

 
AIBAK (Pajhwok): Eleven persons, including four women, a child, and employees of Independent Election Commission (IEC), were killed and three others wounded when a passenger wagon struck a roadside bomb in northern Samangan province the other day, an official said Sunday.
Maj. Gen. Muhammad Akram Baikzad, provincial police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the tragic incident occurred at around 8:00 pm last night in Hussain Khelo area on the outskirts of Aibak, the provincial capital.
Six men, four women and a child were killed and three others injured in the incident, he said, adding that the IEC employees were among the victims.
The injured were instantly rushed to Samangan Civil Hospital for medical treatment, with one of the injured was stated to be in critical condition, said doctor Muqbel Azizi.
