Voter registration centre head removed

 
CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): The head of voter registration centre in Charikar, the capital of central Parwan province, was removed on the last day of the process, an official said on Wednesday.
The nationwide registration campaign, which got under way on November 4, 2013, ended on Tuesday.
Hujatullah Mujaddedi, the provincial Election Complaint Commission (ECC) head of told Pajhwok Afghan News, Ahmad Jan was sacked on the basis of complaints from reliable sources.
Jan allegedly allowed well-connected individuals to get voter cards while the common people had wait in queues.
Mujaddedi said the step would help reduce chances of rigging in the elections. Jan was fire in line with Article 66 of the Election Law, he explained.
Earlier, the people of Charikar had complained to Pajhwok Afghan News about brazen irregularities at the voter registration centre.
