Voter registration centre in Charikar demanded

CHARIKAR (Pajhwok): Residents of central Parwan province on Tuesday complained of crowds in front of the only voter registration centre, demanding the opening of a similar office in Charikar, the provincial capital.
Sifatullah, a resident of Sadullah village, told Pajhwok Afghan News he had been standing in a long line, awaiting his turn to receive the voter card. “I have to look after my crops and cannot afford to spend a third day.”
Col. Haji Mohammad, another resident of Charikar, said he had been waiting for one full for his voter card, but the document was nowhere in sights.
Abdul Qadir Wahab, who recently took charge of provincial election office, confirmed the problem. He said residents’ demand for opening another centre would be met soon.
