HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Militants have attacked the campaign offices of three presidential runners in western Herat province, officials said on Thursday.
A rocket was fired on Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai’s campaign office in Qudusabad area of Islam Qala, but the attack caused no casualties.
Col. Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, the police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News militants stormed the campaign office of Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf in Shindand district. Two suspects had been detained in connection with the incident.
Ahmadi added the campaign office of Dr. Abdullah was assaulted in Injil district. The attack lasted 30 minutes.
Recently Taliban warned of sabotaging the election process by storming campaign offices and targetting all individuals engaged in the process.
