Polish scholarships for Ghazni students

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Poland on Wednesday announced higher education scholarships for attorneys, judges and students from southern Ghazni province. Addressing a press conference in Ghazni City, new Polish Ambassador Piotr Łukasiewicz promised his country would increase the number of scholarships for Afghan students. "Poland will continue assisting Ghazni beyond 2014 and we are trying to execute more projects in the province, which has been declared the centre of Islamic civilisation for 2013,'' he said. The diplomat urged Muslim countries to contribute to the reconstruction of the province, saying they would send some students and attorneys for higher education to Poland in the near future. Speaking on the occasion, Governor Musa Khan Akbarzada appreciated Polish assistance to the province and urged more scholarships for Ghazni-based students. He acknowledged that many reconstruction projects had been implemented in the province by Poland over the past few years and hoped the process would continue.
