MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Balkh Governor Atta Mohammad Noor on Tuesday hailed the April 5 elections as a success, but accused some election officials of being partial in tallying votes
Noor was addressing a gathering in Mazar-i-Sharif to pay tributes to security forces for their efforts to protect voters and polling sites during the historic presidential and provincial elections.
Government officials and tribal elders attended the gathering at the Governor’s House. Noor praised the security forces, saying their role in the elections was commendable.

Voting at a female polling station continued beyond the official closing time of 5pm in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province. However, it was late than 6pm when voting at the Fatima Balkhi polling station was ongoing. There were no lines, but groups of people would arrive and cast votes at the station.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Wednesday said recount process of the April 5 election votes in northern Balkh province completed while the votes of three ballot boxes invalidated.
Provincial IECC chief Mohammad Anabi told Pajhwok Afghan News the recounting process of votes in 27 polling centres was started last week which had been completed.
He said 16 of the polling centres were quarantined in the wake of complaints while 11 others were ordered by the IECC main office to be quarantined for review.

Vote recounting process in Balkh completed

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Sunday said it had recommended placing under quarantine ballot boxes of 26 polling centres in northern Balkh province.
They said a vote recount and audit into 50 of 73 ballot boxes from 17 polling centres in Balkh had been completed in compliance with directives from the Independent Election Commission (IEC)’s main office in Kabul.
IECC official in Balkh Dad Mohammad Anabi told Pajhwok Afghan News there were 126 complaints and all of them had been investigated.

Ballot boxes in 26 Balkh sites found suspicious

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Some ballot boxes have been found faulty after being interfered with by some warlords and their votes are likely to be declared invalid in northern Balkh province, an official said on Tuesday.
The Independent Election Commission and the Electoral Complaints Commission have been recounting votes of quarantined ballot boxes over the past few days in Balkh following complaints of fraud.
