Anomalies alleged at Balkh polling sites

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Independent Election Commission (IEC) officials on Sunday acknowledged fraud had been committed at a number of polling sites during yesterday’s runoff presidential election in northern Balkh province.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Saturday said it had received reports about ballot-stuffing in some parts of northern Balkh province.
Balkh IEC chief Izzatullah Arman told journalists reports about fraud had been received from Dehdadi district, where an election worker was forcing people to vote for a specific candidate.

Warlords, officials interfering in ballot process: IEC

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Senior security officials on Saturday started consultations on how to improve and maintain security in the northern zone in the lead-up to and during the June 14 presidential runoff elections.
Security officials from the nine northern provinces held a meeting in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital of northern Balkh province, and presented reports about their security plans.
They decided to keep sharing reports about security measures they had taken in their respective provinces in order to discuss and devise plans.
