Mahmud-i-Raq (PAN): People of volatile Kapisa complain of economic woes, joblessness, administrative corruption and weak writ of the government.
They said a matter of concern for the people is that they confront unavailability of electricity. The sinking quality of education, absence of a proper market for agriculture products, shortage of irrigation water and a host of other problems paralyzed the lives of the people.
Haji Mullah Dadullah, a tribal elder of Arroki village of central Kapisa said absence of electricity multiply problems of the people. “Due to electricity absence, educated youth cannot use computer and there is dark inside shops and houses even in day time,” he added.
Shah Agha, a resident of Karataz locality said the biggest matter of concern is the shortage of irrigation water.
“We have grapes’ orchards and vast cultivable land but most of the land is turned barren because of water shortage while production of orchards and other crops considerably diminished,” he said.
But Haji Sanaullah, a tribal elder of Alasai locality of Kapisa said his people are in grip of lawlessness and insecurity. Lala Afgha of Hamzakhail area of Kapisa said they have no proper market for their agriculture product. He said if the Kapisa transit route is built then problems of the people would be addressed to great extent.
A number of farmers vehemently complain the government never extends them with any cooperation to bolster the agriculture sector. Ghulam Rabbani, a resident of first Kohistan district said the agriculture department so far does not disburse among them the refined seeds, fertilizers and other agriculture related equipments.
