BAMYAN (PAN): Like other provinces, Bamyan is also among the provinces where infrastructure for government departments did not exist after the collapse of Taliban regime.
However, with the formation of new government, rehabilitation projects were initiated in the province.
The people of Bamyan complain about the unnecessary delay in the rehabilitation projects. They demanded the government to pay attention to resolve people’s problems.
On the other hand, Abdu-u-Rahman Ahmadi, spokesman of Bamyan governor claimed the construction of 130 kilometers road and 80% government departments in the capital had been completed. He informed multiple rehabilitation projects were established for the benefits of common people including the rehabilitation of 200 kilometers road and construction of bridges in different parts of the provinces.       
He told Pajhwok Afghan News different projects have been completed in education and agriculture sectors including the construction of schools buildings and distribution of refined seeds among farmers.
Engineer Salma Nali Sadaqi, provincial head of ruler development said more than $6 million have been spent through National Solidarity Program (NSP) on the construction of roads, small and large dams and schools in Bamayan.
The NSP has enhanced the economic conditions of the people, she remarked.
On the contrary, members of provincial council and civil societies said the ongoing projects were not up to the mark to satisfy the demands of people. They said the provincial authorities neglected the construction of vital road between the capital and Yakawalng district.
Hussain Ahmadi, an activist of civil society in Bamyan told Pajhwok Afghan News rehabilitation project in the province were initiated by the government in greater interests of the people, adding that construction of government infrastructure never rehabilitate the common masses.
Haydar Ali Ahmadi, member of provincial council said bribes and corruption in the rehabilitation program poor quality of projects were constant problems that create hurdles in the progress of the province.
He said few dug-wells and bridges in the rehabilitation program of ruler development department in 2012 were approved but after thorough investigation it was found that the projects were never launched.
 
A numbers of citizens expressed satisfaction over the current status of ongoing rehabilitation program.
Mohammad Aslam, a resident of Bamyan city said that “the implementation of rehabilitation projects changed the feature of  Bamyan city as ten years back the current city viewed like a village.”
Mohammad Nasar, another resident of Bamyan city while lauding the rehabilitation projects said that the country was still burning in the flames of war and spending more money on security.
Afghanistan is a poor country with lack of funds. The finance of rehabilitation projects depends on foreign assistance, he added.
Some people of the province said that Bamyan didn’t develop as compared to other provinces of the country. He criticized the central government for unequal distribution of resources among the provinces.
Mohammad Sajad Mohsani, spokesman of Bamyan Ulama council said that Bamyan city was deprived of electricity and facing shortage of water for cultivation despite of river flowing near the city.
 He informed that hundreds of schools were without building with agriculture could not be developed, however, roads connecting Bamyan- Kabul had been constructed.
