Mahmud-i-Raqi (PAN): The people of Kapisa demand the government to take stringent measures to restore order and launch offensive against anti-state elements to purge the area of miscreants.
People want their government to deliver efficiently in every sector of life but their main demand from the authorities is bolstered security and creation of job opportunities.
Yahya Rahi, a professor at Al Bairuni University and resident of Kapisa capital said the government should prioritize to tighten security.
“There will be more development, jobs and economic opportunities and education if there is peace and security,” he added.
Shah Pur, an elderly man from the provincial capital said the government is needed to explore job opportunities because most of the youth are jobless. “Despite all these heavy money poured in to our country, youth are jobless, roads are not constructed, and bazaars cannot be constructed as per established construction laws. The government should take lead to introduce an organized system in bazaars and the people will automatically get jobs’ opportunities,” he suggested.
Another resident of Nawabad locality of the province complained they have fruits stocks to export but absence of proper market and cold storage facilities to keep the product fresh, are among stumbling blocks. He alleged the government never bothered to address the problems being faced by the farmer community. “We are forced to let our fruits get rotten or sell them on throw away prices,” he grieved.
Suhrab, a teacher at Ghazi Usman School said the government should adopt pre-emptive measures to improve security and law and order ahead of the upcoming elections. He said elections campaign should be launched so that faithful and disciplined candidate could be appointed.
Sabrina, a resident of Arreko area of Kapisa underscored the government miserably failed to adopt measures to facilitate or address problems of her community.
“I am not educated. My husband is disabled and I look after all my kids. The government should provide jobless women with a suitable source of income so that they are able to eke out a livelihood for their children,” she added.
The government should seriously introduce reforms to create job opportunities for youth of the province, said Ahmadullah, a resident of Najrab district. “We are badly treated by the people in Pakistan and Afghanistan who do not pay us for our labour. We have a large number of foreigners in our country with much more money who should launch big projects and recruit our jobless youth,” he noted.
Shah Agha, a driver of Taghab district said focus is direly needed to shift toward tightening security and law, saying strict security is key to boom in business activities. The government, he suggested should build check posts on highways and arrest criminals and dacoits and award them exemplary punishment.
“The security in Taghab district is worst with daily fighting among various groups. The government should ensure its writ to discourage anti-social elements,” he added.
