KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Sunday said 200 complaints had been referred to the Attorney General Office (AGO).
IECC officials told a news conference in Kabul of the 3,000 complaints they had received, 2,212 had been addressed and 792 others were still under review.
Deputy Secretary Wahid Akbar Sarwari said only six complaints pertained to presidential candidates and the rest were against provincial council runners.

MAIDAN SHAHR (Pajhwok): None of presidential and provincial council candidates has paid taxes on the billboards they have installed in various parts of Maidan Shahr, officials said on Saturday.
Posters, photographs and billboards of the runners had been displayed illegally in various parts of the Maidan Wardak capital by their campaigners, Mayor Eng. Mahmood Amiri told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He put the tax payable by candidates at 2 million afghanis, saying his department had been unable to establish contacts with the runners despite hectic efforts.

 
KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 50 days into electioneering, the Independent Election Commission (IEC) on Tuesday warned four media outlets over siding with some candidates.
Speaking at a press conference in Kabul, Farida Nekzad, the IEC media commission head, warned Aina, Dawat, Rah-i-Farda and Bator TV channels against giving undue coverage to certain contenders.

 
KANDAHAR (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC) on Tuesday said it had received about 30 complaints against provincial council (PC) candidates in southern Kandahar.

 
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Fair and Free Election Foundation of Afghanistan (FFEFA) on Thursday said it had recorded 26 cases of electoral law violations during the presidential election campaign.
In its report released on Thursday, the watchdog said the findings were compiled during a month’s time by its 200 field workers in the country’s 34 provinces.
FFEFA executive chief Jandad Spinghar said the law violations took place during 123 campaign events and rallies for presidential candidates.

 
KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Saturday slapped a fine of 50,000 afghanis on presidential candidate Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai.
Announcing results of its investigations into complaints against four runners, the watchdog chief said Ahmadzai had been accused of misusing government resources.
IECC Chairman Abdul Sattar Sadat said the Presidential Palace’s Administrative Affairs Office and the Cabinet Secretariat had filed complaints against Ahmadzai, accusing him of not returning two armoured vehicles.

 
BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): The governor on Tuesday said government officials would not be allowed to campaign for election candidates in central Bamyan province.
Ghulam Ali Wahdat told a meeting of government officials at the Governor’s House that Bamyan residents believed in democracy and they would not allow anyone to work for or against any candidate.
He asked government officials, who attended the meeting, to stay neutral during the election campaign. “If a government servant is proved having campaigned, he/she would stand trial,” the governor warned.

 
KABUL (PAN): The Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC) on Saturday renewed its warning to presidential and provincial council candidates to avoid electioneering ahead of the stipulated time.
IECC officials say they have formally informed presidential and provincial council elections not to embark on election campaigns ahead of the time.
