Next president asked to bolster security

PUL-I-KHUMRY (Pajhwok): The residents of northern Baghlan province on Thursday urged new president should help eliminate foreign meddling in country’s affairs and bolster security and law and order.
The first round of the presidential election was held on April 5 and the runoff on June 14, but the process is yet to be finalised, causing economic problems and insecurity in the country.
People urged the next head of state to tackle problems being faced by masses and put the country on path to development, prosperity and stability.
 Abdul Samad, 50, from Tala Barfak district of Baghlan, said: “I hope the new president will implement law on everyone living in the country.”
 He suggested individuals working in judiciary with poor performance should be replaced with eligible judges to tackle administrative graft.
 Hamid, a resident of Nahrin district said the new leader should introduce reforms in administrative system. “The new leader should resolve our problems we are facing from Pakistan. We will not achieve peace if we have not resolved our problems with our neighbours,” said Mohammad Sarwar, a resident of Dahan-i-Ghori district.
Another resident, Shad Mohammad said the next president should pay greater attention to education sector and sack the teachers posted by warlords and MPs on nepotism and favoritism basis.
Nasreen, 35, a resident of Baghlan-i-Markazi district, urged the new president should seriously resolve issues confronting by women folk.
The next president, she observed should abolish the system of spending heavy money on wedding ceremonies.
Najia, a school teacher, said: “The new president should explore more employment opportunities for women.”
