GARDEZ (PAN): A dozen civilians were wounded during a bomb explosion in the capital of southeastern Paktia province on Wednesday, an official said.
Deputy police chief for the province, Col. Mohammad Zaman, said the blast resulted from a roadside bomb in the main Gardez bazaar at about 10am.
The target of the explosive device was yet to be ascertained, he said, adding police had launched an investigation into the incident.
Gardez Civil Hospital Director Dr. Haya Gul Paktin confirmed receiving 12 wounded individuals from the scene. Two of the injured were in critical condition, he said.
