د تخار د ټاکنو کمېسيون ٤٠ سلنه کار کوونکي لرې شوي

TALOQAN (Pajhwok): An official of the provincial Independent Election Commission (IEC) said on Saturday 40 percent of employees had been sacked for failing to demonstrate neutrality in the April 5 elections.
In an exclusive interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, IEC Director Roohullah Mosawi said a committee had been tasked to investigate employees involved in fraud. Most of the 50 workers found guilty had been fired.
“Yes, we have sacked 50 employees, regional organisers whose hiring was based on compromise. Other employees could continue with their jobs,” the official explained.
He believed a surge in polling sites for the July 14 runoff vote would help residents of far-off areas participate in the elections without any hassle.
But civil society activist Shafiqi Shujaee alleged most of the election commission employees were involved in fraud. He urged the IEC to pave the ground for fair polls.
