US says ready to sign BSA promptly

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The Untied States of America on Tuesday asked Afghan authorities to consider a quick conclusion of the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) after successful election on April 5.
Peter G Kaestner, the USA consul in Mazar-i-Sharif, congratulated the Afghan people for the landmark elections and reiterated his stance over the security pact. He said the Afghan government should sign the deal.
At an exhibition in Mazar-i-Sharif, the diplomat said the massive turnout had proved Afghans’ rejection of violence and their desire to move toward peace, stability and democracy. He said the elections were important for Afghanistan’s future.
