Candidates to pay 3m billboards’ tax to municipality

 
KABUL (Pajhwok): Officials on Wednesday said some presidential runners and 40 provincial council hopefuls are yet to pay their due taxes to of Kabul Municipality for installing their campaign posters and billboard in different points of city.
Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, Abdul Rab Rasoul Sayyaf, Dr. Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Qutbuddin Hilal are among presidential runners yet to pay their due payments to the municipality.
Eng. Rahila Kohistani, head of cultural directorate in the municipality, in her interview with Pajhwok Afghan News said contenders had not paid so far their dues for the billboard they installed in parts of the city to promote their elections campaigns.
Four presidential contenders have to pay 3 million afghanis, she said, adding the municipality had formally informed the runners to pay the dues.
Another 40 provincial council hopefuls are also defaulters to the municipality.
The cultural directorate said the city municipality generated around 110 million afghanis from billboards installed by the candidates contesting the April 5 ballot.
