KABUL (PAN): Muhammad Zahir Wahid, new minister-designate of commerce and industry, was introduced to the Wolesi Jirga, Lower House of Parliament, for a vote of confidence on Monday. Abdul Ghafar Faizi Zadran, media officer at the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry, told Pajhwok Afghan News Wahid was introduced after Muhammad Hadi Hakimi expressed his inability to join the cabinet. Two days back, a second slate 16 cabinet members was submitted to the house by President Hamid Karzai. On Sunday, Eng. Abdul Qudoos was introduced as minister-designate of telecommunication and information technology. In a list read out by Vice-President Karim Khalili, Muhammad Hadi Hakimi was introduced as minister-designate of commerce and industry. According a reliable source, Hakimi withdrew from the position due to personal problems. The source added Hakimi was currently living in Canada. mnm/mud
