KABUL (PAN): Final results of provincial council elections for Bamyan, Paktika and Kunduz provinces were announced on Sunday. An IEC press release said the results were unveiled following their approval from the UN-backed Electoral Complaints Commission (ECC). All candidates were afforded the opportunity to file complains with the ECC after the unveiling of preliminary results. The release said the ECC carried out due investigations of suspicious ballot boxes and assessments to ensure transparency in the polls. Bamyan and Paktika have nine seats each, including three reserved for women while Kunduz has 15 seats, including four for women. myn/ma
