KABUL (PAN): Final results of provincial council elections for Ghor, Maidan Wardak, Daikundi, Khost and Badghis were announced on Wednesday. The Independent Election Commission (IEC) said the certified results were unveiled after the assessment of rigging complaints by the authorities concerned. An IEC press release said all candidates were afforded the opportunity to file complains with Electoral Complaints Commission after the unveiling of preliminary results. According to the press release, the ECC carried out due investigations and assessments to ensure transparency in the elections. Wardak, Khost, Badghis and Daikundi have nine seats each, including three berths reserved for women. Ghor has 15 seats, with four allotted to women. mnm/mud
