JALALABAD (PAN): Unidentified gunmen fired several rockets and at the provincial council chief's residence in the eastern province of Nangarhar, an official said on Tuesday.

Provincial council chief, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, told Pajhwok Afghan News the assailants attacked his house at around 10:30pm Monday night. No one, however, was wounded in the 30-minute battle between his guards and the attacker.

"I have no personal enmity," said Muslimyar, who added one rocket seized from the attackers was handed over to the authorities concerned. Police spokesman Colonel Abdul Ghafoor said an investigation had been launched into the incident.
