Taliban kill 8 passengers seized from Ghazni bus

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): The Taliban killed eight passengers they seized from a public transport bus about a week ago in the Maqur district of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Tuesday.
The eight were pulled out from the 303 bus on the Kabul-Kandahar highway on Wednesday night and their dead bodies were found on Monday night in the Bawal Haq area, the deputy governor said.
Mohammad Ali Ahmadi told Pajhwok Afghan News the dead were yet to be identified, but their bodies had been taken to a hospital in Maqur by police.
A witness, Rahimullah, said: “The Taliban stopped passenger vehicles near the district bazaar. They wore Afghan National Army uniforms and asked for government and non-government employees,” he said.
The uniformed gunmen told passengers they had been directed to escort government employees to Ghazni City because they could face danger on the road, the witness said.
As eight individuals disembarked the bus, the gunmen in ANA uniforms tied their hands behind their back and took them away, Rahimullah said.
Two days ahead of Eidul Fitr, two drivers were shot dead in the same area.
