Gymnasium being built in Kandahar

KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): A gymnasium is being built in the capital of southern Kandahar province at a cost of $6050000 to lure youth into whole sports, the governor said on Monday.
Toryalai Weesa, during a visit to the project site, told reporters the project on Do Rahi area of the city was being funded by the Ministry of Counter-Narcotics.
“The local administration is doing its best to eradicate poppy crops across the province and the effort has been appreciated by the ministry, which has agreed to provide funds for the gymnasium,” the governor said.
Dr. Weesa added the governor’s house and the Department of Counter-Narcotics would support the gymnasium project to provide youth with recreational facilities.
He also visited a new building for the police headquarters, saying the project would be executed within a year.
