کميسيون شکايات : به شکایات انتخاباتى به شکل عادلانه رسیدگی خواهد شد

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The Independent Election Complaints Commission (IECC)’s regional office in western Herat province on Sunday said it has so far registered only four complaints against presidential candidates.
The presidential election campaign kicked off on July 28 and would continue until September26.
Gul Mohammad Tariq, IECC commissioner for Herat, told a press conference that the four complaints were against President Ashraf Ghani electoral team about misusing authority. He urged citizens to register their complaints about electoral violations.
Jawad Amid, a civil society activist in Herat City, the provincial capital, told Pajhwok Afghan News that, “Unfortunately, the procedures have been designed in a way that the IECC looks into violations only when complaints are registered against the violations.”
Mohammad Baqir, an election activist, said all the registered complaints had raised similar objections and should be sent to Kabul.
On the other hand, Wakil Ahmad Karkhi, a member of the provincial council, said people knew their complaints would not be addressed and thus avoided to register them.
Seventeen candidates, including President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, are in the run for September 28 ballot.
