KABUL (Pajhwok): Some political parties and civil society groups, terming the current situation as chaotic, on Thursday urged for unity among political forces to take the country out of crises.
Leaders of the political parties and civil society organizations gathered in capital Kabul on Thursday and said the current political, economic and security situation of the country was terrible and only an active role of politicians could save the nation from a catastrophe.
Tahir Hashami, a member of Harakat-i-Milli Afghanistan Wahid political party, said the country was facing immense problems and was in terrible condition.
Abdul Sattar Serat, a senior politician and a former presidential candidate, had earlier stressed the establishment of a interim government to put the existing disputes and the conflict to an end.
Mohammad Haroon Barakzai, the Mutahid Milli Afghanistan political party’s secretary, said all the Afghans should unite and take the country out of its problems, adding that some people wanted to play politics with the country for their personal interest.
He critisised the government for losing credibility and legitimacy, saying mostly minor political forces were a part of it and there was no real public representation.
Asif Wardak, a political expert, said political parties and civil society activists should get united to take the country out of political, security and economic troubles.
