Nimroz National Directorate of Security (NDS) chief Maj. Rahmatullah Nasir told Pajhwok Afghan News the three NDS personnel, including an officer, were killed by Taliban in the Dilaram district.
The three were on a patrol in Dilaram district centre on Wednesday afternoon when Taliban gunmen opened fire at their car.
The ensuing clash left three NDS officials and two Taliban attackers dead, he said.
An NDS official, who wished anonymity, confirmed the incident and the casualties. He said a third Taliban man was wounded in the clash.
Elsewhere, a landmine blast killed the appellant court attorney for Tagab district and the district electricity deputy chief and three others in Faryab province on Thursday.

Hamidullah, the attorney, and Faizullah Khomar, the electricity official, were on their way to work when the magnetic bomb attached to Khomar’s vehicle went off at 8:30am.
He said Khomar was in stable condition, but two others injured persons were said to be in critical condition and had been shifted to a hospital in Maimana, the provincial capital.
Provincial attorney Habibullah Wasiq confirmed the Sherin Tagab attorney’s death in the blast, blaming it on Taliban militants.
The provincial electricity department head, Sayed Abdul Hamid, said Khomar was deputy head of the power sub-station for Tagab and Dawlat Abad districts. He was injured along with two other employees in the blast, he said.
