Uruzgan forces tactically retreat from some check posts

TARINKOT (Pajhwok): Some residents of Dahrawad district in central Uruzgan province on Saturday claimed militants were about to capture the main district bazaar but security forces said they tactically retreated from some check posts.
At least 167 militants, seven Afghan security forces and as many civilians have been killed in fierce clashes that erupted in several parts of the province. For the last few days, insurgents had intensified attacks on security forces in different districts.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Akhwndzada, former head of provincial council, said rebels had reached close to the main district bazaar and they were about to capture it.
Mohammad Nayab, the governor’s spokesman, also confirmed severe fighting between security forces and insurgents in the province.
