Ghazanfar promises jobs to Ghazni women

GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Women Affairs Minister Husn Banu Ghazanfar on Sunday promised creating more work opportunities for women in southern Ghazni province. Addressing a gathering titled "We Want Peace" in Ghazni city, the provincial capital, Ghazanfar acknowledged Ghazni women suffered a lot like their sisters in other provinces due to insecurity. The minister called on the Taliban and other insurgent groups to renounce violence and return to a normal life. Ghazanfar said her ministry had constructed parks, gardens, markets and other facilities for women in several provinces, promising similar facilities for women in Ghazni. Efforts are underway to provide work opportunities for women in this province, she said. Governor Musa Khan Akbarzada also asked armed insurgents to shun insurgency and join the government-initiated peace process. He said Taliban militants, most of them foreign citizens, sneaked into Ghazni from neighbouring countries. The governor praised Ghazanfar for her visit to the province ahead of 2013 when Ghazni city will serve as the capital of Islamic Civilization.
