شوراى ولايتى: مسوولان ولايت بغلان به طالبان امتيازميدهند

PUL-I-KHUMRI (Pajhwok): Provincial Council (PC) members of northern Baghlan province on Thursday warned the province would fall to Taliban if urgent security measures were not adopted to ward-off looming threats.
But security officials said clearing operations were underway to purge several areas of militants.
Last week militants captured three bases and 20 check-posts after severe fighting in Dand-i-Ghori locality and Baghlan-i-Markazi district.
Security officials said they repulsed militants from the bases and check-posts tactically to secure the control of security posts.
Provincial Council Member Mohammad Zarif Zarif told Pajhwok Afghan News during a meeting on Wednesday security officials decided not to conduct operation in areas that had recently been captured by rebels.
He said Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital, would soon fall to rebels if security officials failed to workout stringent security measures.
Provincial Council Head Safdar Mohsani said the residents wanted fierce anti-rebels offensive. He warned if security forces did not launch operations Taliban would be encouraged to control more areas.
