1 dead, female PC member among 6 hurt in blast

JALALABAD (Pajhwok):  One person was killed and six others, including provincial council (PC) female member Angeza Shinwari, wounded in a bomb blast in eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday, the civil hospital director said.
Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the target of the attack was Shinwari.
Mohammad Ismail, an eyewitness, said the incident took place at around 1: 30 pm on the outskirts of 2nd police district of provincial capital, Jalalabad.
Civil Hospital Director Dr. Humayun Zahir confirmed receiving one body and six injured persons. The injured, he said were in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Education Director Mohammad Asif Shinwari said five students of Bibi Hawa High School have been wounded in the same blast.
According to Shinwari the students were on their way to school when the blast occurred.
