No plan to send delegation to Kabul: HIA

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Hezb-i-Islami Afghanistan (HIA) led by Eng. Gulbadin Hikmatyar on Saturday rejected reports that it was sending a delegation to Kabul for talks on various issues with new government.
In recent days, a report surfaced on social media that a high-powered HIA team was scheduled to travel to Kabul on Saturday (today) for political negotiations.
But the HIA’s political affairs chief, Dr. Ghairat Baheer, dismissed the report as a rumour and unsubstantiated. Speaking to Pajhwok Afghan News, Baheer said: “Neither I nor any other member of the party plan to visit Kabul.” The HIA would share if there was anything new, he added.
During the April, 5 presidential election, Hekmatyar-led opposition group had announced its support to Qutbuddin Hilal. But they supported no runner in the runoff polls.
