PUL-I-ALAM (PAN): A roadside landmine blew up a tank of US-led coalition forces, injuring two soldiers, in Baraki Barak district of the central Logar province, an official said on Wednesday.

Governor's spokesman, Din Mohammad Darwesh, told Pajhwok Afghan News a roadside bomb struck a tank of the forces during a patrol Tuesday night in Deh Maghulan area of the district. Two soldiers were wounded in the incident.

A Taliban spokesman, meanwhile, asserted responsibility for the blast. Zabihullah Mujahid claimed all those aboard the tank were killed in the explosion.

Up to 48 US soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan in a month or so, most of them by roadside bombs. These last two months have also been increasingly deadly for NATO-led ISAF soldiers
