TIRINKOT (PAN): A suicide bomber blew himself up at a polling station in the central province of Uruzgan, killing four Afghan army soldiers and two civilians, officials said on Tuesday.


The attack happened in Chori district early this morning at 9:30 am, said commander of the 205 Atal Military Corps, fourth battalion, Gen Abdul Hameed, who added three soldiers and as many civilians were also wounded in the blast.


He said the attacker who was on foot blew himself up near the soldiers guarding the polling station.


The injured were rushed to a hospital.


Deputy police chief Col Mohammad Nabi confirmed the attack and said there was no policeman at the scene when the attack happened.
