MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Participants of a seminar in northern Balkh province on Wednesday believed early parliamentary elections would help bring peace and stability to the country.
Provincial council members from different provinces and civil society activists attended the seminar, calling for early and fair Wolesi Jirga elections.
Hamid Safwat, one of the seminar’s organizers, told Pajhwok Afghan News they wanted to prepare the ground for free and fair parliamentary polls with the help of civil society groups.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Second deputy chief executive officer Mohammad Muhaqqeq on Wednesday said Pakistan was yet to honour pledges it held out to Afghan leaders regarding the peace process.
He was addressing a gathering commemorating Imam Mahdi, the 12th Imam, in Mazar-i-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province.
Local residents, government and security officials participated in the gathering.  “We can’t succeed unless tolerance, respect and love for each other prevail,” Muhaqqeq said.

MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The provincial government in northern Balkh province on Monday said except the judiciary, people’s complaints against other provincial departments equaled to nothing.
But the provincial council head said bad governance prevailed in the education, security and public health sectors.
In an interview with Pajhwok Afghan News, the gubernatorial spokesman, Munir Farhad, said the province had made “memorable achievements” last solar year that ends on March 21.
