QALAT (Pajhwok): Officials of southern Zabul mines department said different kinds of mines could be found in various parts of this province, but proper survey was needed to identify its exact volume and location.
HamidullahRasuli, director provincial mines department, told Pajhwok Afghan News authorities have been able to excavate the Jasper mine in DaiChopan district through a legal contract in one year.

 
QALAT (PAN): Zabul residents said the province was experiencing lawlessness and poor security with most of the militants were infiltrating from the other side of the border.
“There is no security problems during the winter season but law and order gets deteriorate as the weather gets warmer. The banning of riding of motorbikes by the government helped control Taliban activities to great extend but the province sometime witnesses sporadic attacks,” the residents added.

 
QALAT (PAN): Officials and residents of Zabul have conflicting views regarding the implementation of development projects in the province.
Officials said rehabilitation projects were implemented in different parts of the province while residents of the province categorically rejected the officials’ view point.   
The residents said development projects could not be extended to far-flung areas of the province. But officials said completion of various projects brought visible changes in the lives of the people.

 
QALAT (PAN): As many as 140 schools are closed because of widespread insecurity with some of them have no buildings, education official said.
Some progress has been achieved to keep the education sector forward in the volatile region but a large number of students are deprived of education, the official said.
