TALOQAN (Pajhwok): The northwestern Takhar province has an estimated 46 different mines containing natural reserves and resources which will considerably bolster national economy if they are extracted in a professional and legal ways.
As many as 1, 500 employees are working on different mines elsewhere in the province.
Geological surveys and researches have taken place many times in the province but practical work on exploiting the resources would yet take place.

TALOQAN (PAN): Though there is no imminent security threat from Taliban, heavy presence of armed groups and drugs smugglers in some districts of the Northern Province are some of the challenges being confronted by the locals, officials said.
They said anti-state and social elements had been operating in Dasht-i-Qala, Yangi Qala, Darqad, Khwaja Bahaudin, Khwaja Ghar and Rustaq districts of the province.

TALUQAN (PAN): Almost 85% economy of people in Takhar province depends on agriculture and livestock but lack of warehouses and suitable markets for the crops dealt considerable damage to the vital agro sector.

The northern Takhar province is situated with close proximity to Kunduz, Baghlan and Badakhsan provinces.

Agriculture:

Takhar has total 310,000 hectares irrigated and 620, 000 rain-fed lands with its farmers cultivate two crops annually.

TALUQAN (PAN): Officials of Takhar said hundreds of rehabilitation projects had been completed in the province but people were of the opinion the region still direly needed construction of hospitals, bridges, dams and infrastructure.
Completion of hundreds of development projects would help benefit millions of residents of the province, officials said.

TALUQAN (PAN): Officials said education had been marching on road to progress with construction of new schools but the sector was facing some sort of serious challenges that were needed to be resolved without further delay.
Almost a decade ago, the province had a total of 400 schools but now that figure surged to 600, which was a big progress.
Gul Agha Dehnazari, press officer at the provincial education department said as many as 286 among them all had now proper and advanced buildings. At least 43 other buildings for schools were under construction process.
