MAZAR-I-SHARIF (PAN): Provincial council members on Sunday said rising insecurity would have a bitter impact on next year’s elections in northern Sar-i-Pul province.
However, security officials said they saw nothing potentially worrisome to endanger the electoral process.

 
SAR-i-PUL (PAN): The economy of around 80% population of the Sar-i-Pul province depends on agriculture and livestock farms, provincial officials said.
In addition, natural resources elsewhere in the province offer better employment opportunities for the residents.
Farmers said rehabilitation could not take place during the past decade in the province as was expected by the people, noting the growers’ community was facing the same decades old problems.
Half of their land deprived of cultivation every season because of shortage of irrigation water, they added.

 
SAR-I-PUL (PAN): Expressing satisfaction over security situation, residents of Sar-i-Pul demanded security officials were needed to adopt more stringent measures to strengthen law and order in an attempt to further win the support of the people.
Security officials said law and order had been bolstered as compared to the past, adding efforts were on to keep security maintained in parts of the province. They expressed optimism some hurdles hampering security measures would be removed if people extended their all out supports.

 
SAR-I-PuL CITY (PAN): Officials said rehabilitation work in the province had been expedited but it was moving with a slow-paced during the past, causing considerable delay to complete the allocated projects.   
Earlier, the official said large scale development was witnessed in education sector, road infrastructure and demining sector during the last decade.
Abdul Jabbar Haqbin, governor of Sar-i-Pol province told Pajhwok Afghan News rehabilitation and development project could not be implemented in the province because of multiple problems.

 
SAR-I-PUL (PAN): Residents of Sari-e-Pul province said most of the schools in the province were facing serious problems including lack of efficient and professional teachers, textbooks and proper buildings.
The vital education sector did not receive proper attention of the concerned departments, leaving the volatile Sar-i-Pul backward in terms of education and literacy rate, residents said.

The Sar-I-Pul provincial council is composed of 15 members -- four of them elected for a second term. The following members were chosen as administrative board members:
Council head: Mohammad Noor Rahmani
Deputy Head: Haji Sayed Asadullah Danish
Secretary: Masooma Ramazani
 
1-Noor Agha Noori:

Located north of the country, Sar-i-Pula along with the provincial capital comprised seven administrative units.
 
The districts are: Balkhab, Sancharak, Gosfandi, Sozma Qala, Sayad and Kohistanat.
1 – SAR-I-PUL:
 
Known as Sar-i-Pul, the capital city has 16 percent desert. It comprises 148 villages with many parts of the capital city are sandy and covered by hills. The fuel reserves have greatly contributed to the importance of the district.
 
2 – Sancharak district:
